Learn how to configure areas of X3 to track historical data and automatically update records.

- asset location information.

The session will also cover:

-Creating your own custom related tables

-Adding a look up to a field

This month's workshop is will be presenting the new data import tool.

With this new feature, system administrators will be able to import information from .csv files directly into eMaint X3.

Some examples of the types of data that can be uploaded to eMaint X3 include:


- Updated parts price lists
- Updated inventory counts
- Location changes for mass moves
- New contact lists
- PM tasks

In this month's X3 workshop, eMaint product specialist Alex Allen will walk you through the PM Manager tool which is designed to help you adjust your PM schedule and improve your PM completion rate.

Alex will demonstrate how the PM Manager tool can help you:

- Make mass adjustments to your PM schedule

- Calculate the average time to complete a PM (based on actual work history)

- Forecast and adjust next PM dates

Whether you are using time-based and/or meter-based PMs, there's always room for improving your PM program.

The Data Import tool allows you to use data from a spreadsheet to automatically create records in the system. You can also use this tool to make mass updates to existing records. This can save you hours of data entry time.


The process of importing data to the X3 system is based on the following rules:

Steps Needed In Order To Create Field

• Navigate to an existing record(work order, asset, part, etc) and then go to options and then customize form.
• You will then want to add a new field.
• • Create a new TEXT field in which you want to make sure to set the character length to 254 characters. This will be needed to display the full url and link correctly to the document.
